Future of Music Policy Summit 2002: Directions

January 7-8, 2002 • Gaston Hall, Georgetown University • Washington, DC

The Policy Summit is being held in Gaston Hall, an auditorium on the third floor of Healy Hall on the Georgetown University Campus. Healy Hall is pretty easy to find; it's the gorgeous Gothic building with the clock tower that you see in front of you as you enter the campus from the main gates at 37th and O Streets, NW.

Regional Ground Transportation:

Washington DC has the Metro -- a subway line that links most parts of the city and serves as a great way to get around. Unfortunately the Metro doesn't have a stop in Georgetown. The closest stops are the GWU stop (orange line) and the Rosslyn stop (orange line), both of which are about a mile from campus.

As you might guess there are a plethora of cab companies in the DC area. Here are a couple that service the DC/VA area: Yellow Cab of DC (202) 544-1212, Red Top Cab of Virginia (703) 522-3333.

Parking near Campus:

Parking is extremely limited around Georgetown. There's basically no public parking available on campus, and street parking in the area is limited to 2 hours unless you have a residential permit. And the police are ruthless with the tickets. We'd suggest cabbing it or finding other means unless you want to run out and move your car every few hours.
