MusiCares Offers Vocal Screening
Anyone who follows FMC's work knows that one of our core issues is ensuring musicians have access to health insurance and affordable health care. That's why we're happy to pass along some information to musicians in the NYC area about an upcoming voice screening being organized by MusiCares.
On Saturday, April 17th from 9am to 3pm, MusiCares, along with the NY Eye and Ear Infirmary Voice and Swallowing Institute and KayPentax are sponsoring FREE Voice Screenings for professional singers. The screenings, normally costing up to $1,000, will consist of a vocal use questionnaire, stroboscopic exam of the vocal folds, and physician examination. Physicians and other specialists will diagnose any current problems, and provide information designed to assist the vocalist in maintaining an injury-free career. Singers must apply and be pre-screened by MusiCares for eligibility in order to schedule an appointment. Contact 212-245-7840 or email rsvp_mcny@grammy.com for more information.
