Dear NOLA: A Concert for New Orleans!
Attention: Anyone and everyone who loves kick-ass music, artist activism and jambalaya! (As for the two of you who don’t, we humbly suggest reevaluating your priorities.)
If you are in the 504 neighborhood, you can’t miss Dear NOLA: A Concert for New Orleans at the Blue Nile (532 Frenchmen Street) this Thursday, February 17th at 9pm.
FMC and Air Traffic Control are delighted to present a true honor roll of artists for an all-star, one-of-a-kind concert in the Big Easy. The show features New Orleans’ very own Bonerama, along with Cody ChesnuTT, DJSpooky/That Subliminal Kid, Grammy nominated Helen Bruner + Terry Jones, Jenny Toomey & Kristin Thomson of Tsunami, M1 of Dead Prez, Mirah, Sage Francis, Shawn King of DeVotchKa, Ira Tuton of Yeasayer, Vernon Reid, Sunpie Barnes and Zach Rogue of Rogue Wave.
This is lucky concert #7 for FMC and Air Traffic Control, who have been co-hosting New Orleans-based artist activism retreats since 2006.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Proceeds will benefit two awesome NOLA-based nonprofits that both work to sustain the culture of NOLA past, present and future: Sweet Home New Orleans & Gulf Restorations Network. Donations and proceeds will support artistic communities, providing adequate resources to nurture creativity for generations to come.
Can’t party with us in the Crescent City? Be sure to grab your copy of Dear New Orleans, a 31-track ode to New Orleans. This critically acclaimed compilation, which includes past concert alumni, can be purchased here.
Hope to see you there!
