New York State Bar Association: Entertainment & Sports Law Annual Meeting. FMC’s Director of Programs Jean Cook will join representatives of VEVO and Pandora for a panel discussion on “New Business Models in Music and Media.” It promises to be an informative and entertaining discussion of cutting edge legal and business issues including access versus ownership, sale versus licensing, subscription versus advertising, streaming versus downloading, interactive versus non-interactive, statutory licenses versus direct licenses, and more. State of The Net Conference. Deputy Director Casey Rae will moderate a panel discussion entitled “Congress as NetMusic’s DJ: Is It Spinning the Turntables in the Right Direction for Innovation and Creativity”, with representatives of SoundExchange, Pandora, and other leading industry players.
