Since May 2013, the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet has undertaken a comprehensive review of the entire Copyright Act, including many issues of importance to musicians and songwriters. But the Act is not the only regulatory structure that impacts how creators are compensated.

The Senate's newest member, Al Franken(D-MN) is on board for the Future of Music Policy Summit (Oct. 4-6, Georgetown University, Washington, DC). Senator Franken will deliver a keynote about one of our favorite topics, net neutrality. We've seen the Senator in action in some of his earlier committee hearings (he actually brought up net neutrality during Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor's confirmation process), and we're very much looking forward to his comments about preserving the open internet. read more
